Microsoft continues to improve Bing Chat, its version of ChatGPT, week after week. The latest update facilitates access on iPhone and multiplies the compatible languages.
Microsoft continues its efforts to impose itself in the field of AI with its own version of ChatGPT: Bing Chat. From week to week, the firm’s engineers offer significant new features to improve the user experience. The firm unveiled a new update for Bing Chat on Friday June 16.
A widget for iOS
The big news of the week is the arrival of a widget dedicated to Bing Chat for iOS. You will therefore be able to access the AI much faster on iPhone or iPad.
Pending improvements for Siri from Apple, this widget allows you to quickly access voice chat with Bing Chat to ask questions orally. Microsoft has also added voice recognition in over 30 languages, mostly European.
Despite the absence of a connected speaker marketed by Microsoft, the firm therefore seems to be really betting on a democratization of its AI by voice.
This update for Bing also improves the responsiveness of AI on Android and iPhone when the user triggers voice recognition.
Microsoft knows that in the field, it benefits from a lead over Google, which is still working on the deployment of Bard, and over ChatGPT, which is still in beta. However, Google remains today the undisputed leader in online research. Redmond engineers must therefore improve the product as quickly as possible to hope to create a solid breach in the market of the great Californian rival.
