One of the best releases of Apple TV+ in this month of May 2024 is now available on the Apple platform. “Dark matter”or “Dark Matter”, is one of the best bets on the science fiction series that the company has made which attempts to rival Netflix’s “The Three-Body Problem.”
Apple has already released important science fiction series such as “Invasion”, “Constellation”, “For All Mankind” which has already announced its fifth season or the super production “Foundation”. But “Dark Matter” seeks something else, delving into a science fiction classic: parallel universes.
“Dark Materials” is one of the most acclaimed science fiction novels of the decade about the roads we never took. The series follows Jason Dessen (Joel Edgerton), a physicist, professor and family man. One night, walking home through the streets of Chicago, Jason is kidnapped and transported to an alternate version of his own life.
The amazement quickly turns into a nightmare as he tries to return to his reality through the impressive range of stories he could have experienced. In this labyrinth of universes, Jason embarks on a harrowing journey to recover his true family and save them from the most terrifying and powerful enemy imaginable: himself.
“Dark Matter” now available on Apple TV+
The two first episodes of “Dark Materials” can now be seen on Apple TV+ and the third will be released on May 15. We will have new episodes every Wednesday and the final episode of the season will be released on June 26. In total the series will have 8 episodes during this season.
In the first episode Jason Dessen, our protagonist played by Joel Edgerton, a chemistry teacher and father, is kept away from everything he loves. The “Many Worlds Interpretation” of quantum mechanics appears quickly in the first episode of this series that aims to be fascinating for all science fiction lovers.

In the cast of “Dark Materials” we have actors of the stature of the aforementioned Joel Edgerton and others like Jennifer Connelly, Alice Braga or Jimmi Simpson.
