It changes to the iPhone 14 Pro Max after more than 10 years on Android and these are the conclusions after using Apple’s flagship device.

A Android fan who had been on the platform for many years has decided to change sides and switch to an iPhone 14 Pro Max, and best of all, he has shared his experience. It is not easy to see users who are fans of one system make the change to the other, and it is certainly not easy to know their feelings either.

East reddit user the iPhone 14 Pro Max has been changed after have been using Android devices for more than a decade, his last Apple terminal was an iPhone 4s. However, he has decided to jump to Apple’s flagship iPhone this year, mainly because he was “bored with Android”. His previous smartphone was a Samsung Galaxy S20.

My motivation for switching to an iPhone after more than a decade with Android phones was pretty straightforward. I was bored with android.

Everything good you’ve found in the iPhone 14 Pro Max

In general terms, this user indicates that their first impressions “were great”. A device with a “very premium feel” and “blazing fast”. But then he went on to highlight the strengths of the iPhone 14 Pro Max:

display and performance

The iPhone 14 Pro Max has the best screen on the market, and that is something that this user has quickly noticed. A screen that looks really good and with ProMotion it has incredible smooth transitions.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max screen looks fantastic. The 120Hz runs silky smooth, and coupled with Apple’s legendary animations, the experience is truly second to none. Even compared to a Pixel 7 Pro, the iPhone still feels smoother to navigate.

Incredible battery life

The iPhone 14 Pro Max is one of the smartphones with the longest battery life on the market, as the iPhone 13 Pro Max already was. It is common to reach the end of the day with a battery of more than 50%, despite demanding use.

Battery lasts all day just by having the phone plugged in while driving, and comfortably ending the day at over 90%, which is insane. I’m a fairly demanding user, streaming music throughout the day and decently high social media usage, with the screen on an average of around 5 hours, so this is incredibly impressive in my opinion.

The applications

One thing many Android users notice when testing an iPhone is that apps are better designed. It is as if the developer took more care of them on an aesthetic level. But the system’s own apps are also highly valued.

It’s pretty clear that apps in general seem to be better optimized for iPhones than Android. Also, Apple-specific apps like Wallet seem to be better implemented than something like Google Pay. I use the Wallet app all the time. I hardly ever used Google Pay.

The camera

The iPhone camera is one of the best on the market in all aspects, being practically unsurpassed in terms of. video recording. But the camera app also stands out especially, which works very smoothly.

The camera is excellent. It’s almost instant to use, photos look fantastic, editing is quick and easy, Pro Raw is a cool feature that I’m too inexperienced to get any value from, but I appreciate it anyway, low light performance is unbelievably good , HDR video is amazing, and switching between zoom levels is also extremely smooth.

FaceID

Face ID replaced Touch ID already 5 years ago, and it was a very valuable decision since Touch ID worked very well. Nevertheless, everyone who has used it knows that it is superior in many ways to any fingerprint readerand this Android fan has fallen in love.

Very fast, very secure, and you can use it for basically anything. Love, love and love. Fingerprint readers are dumb now.

Things you miss about Android

But not everything is good. For example, think that functions such as Dynamic Island, iMessage or CarPlay have room for improvement, even if they are not negative points. However, there are others features you didn’t like about the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Personalization

Personalization has never been the strong point of the iPhone, no matter how much Apple has opened its hand in recent years with innovations such as the new lock screen. But something that has irritated this user is the app devices on the home screen.

Even something as simple as having applications in lower rows is not possible. I don’t know why iOS insists that default apps be in the front rows, especially given how big the phones are.

With iOS 16 new ways of personalization come to the iPhone

settings

The lack of intuitive settings in iOS can drive me crazy from time to time. The basic stuff is nicely laid out and easy enough to navigate, but finding specific settings to change can be difficult.

autocorrect

Something that he did not like either is the iPhone keyboard autocorrect. As she indicates, it constantly fails her and seems to randomly suggest words that have nothing to do with the conversation.

This is crap compared to Android. I’ve never had so many typos in my life, and some of the words Apple assumes I’m typing seem to be 100% randomly selected.

notifications

Notifications in iOS have their own style and it seems that this user did not like them, especially miss icons in the status bar so you don’t forget about notifications. Although in this case, it seems that it needs a few more weeks of adaptation.

I don’t understand how Apple users haven’t revolted over this. It’s quite possible that most simply don’t have a clue what they’re missing. I’ve tried every way to set up my notifications, and I always miss things coming through. It’s a horrible system, and there’s no excuse for it to be this bad in 2022.

Analysis of the iPhone 14 Pro: all the good and all the bad

Of course they are very interesting opinions that are worth knowing. If you are thinking of making the leap from Android to the iPhone, they may be of great help to you.
