Sharing the whole incident on Twitter, New York-based entrepreneur Roshan Patel wrote, ‘I created a fake profile of a startup founder on LinkedIn. The photo used in this profile was created with the help of AI and I wrote about myself in the profile. That I’m a Stanford University dropout and worked at Stripe. Within just 24 hours of creating this profile, I was contacted by a Venture Capitalist who wanted to invest.
Now this tweet of Roshan Patel is going viral. So far more than 66 lakh views have come on this and more than 47 thousand people have liked it. However, netizens seem to be divided on the message sent by the VC to Roshan Patel. Where some people are believing it to be true, some people are also telling this chat of VC composed by AI.
Roshan Patel had created this fake account in the name of some Chad Smith. Roshan received a message from a VC analyst, “Hello Chad Smith, I am an analyst with this company (Roshan withheld the company name) and I saw your profile that you have started your founding journey. Some X-stripe friends Told me great things about you. I want to join you and see what new you are making.
