Technically, it is not a function that has been created for it, but for remove the background of an image and leave only the main subjectregardless of what that background is like. Next we will tell you how you can do it and that this becomes a sticker for Telegram.
Click, drag and drop
What’s new in iOS 16 with background clipping couldn’t be faster and easier to use. Simply go to the Photos app on your iPhone, open the photo you want to make a sticker, and hold down the image for a few seconds. While pressing you will notice a visual effect on the subject that will indicate that it has already been detected and selected.
Still pressing on the photo, use another finger to exit the Photos app and open Telegram. You will see that while you do this, the cropped photo without the background follows you with the other finger that you left pressed. Now it will only be a matter of entering the chat in which you want to share the photograph and releasing it.
It should be said that with this function you can turn virtually any photo into a sticker with a transparent background. It does not matter if the photos are not taken in portrait mode and it does not matter if they are not taken with your iPhone and have been downloaded from the Internet.
Through artificial intelligence, the system is able to distinguish the background from the main subject. And, obviously, it is not always accurate and sometimes an element that was not wanted can sneak in or directly not be able to recognize the background. However, at least in our months of experience using the iOS 16 beta, we will have found a bug for every hundred photos in which it is interpreted well.

It doesn’t work on WhatsApp, at the moment…
If Telegram is not your main messaging application, or at least not the only one, you’d better not delete apps like Sticker Maker Studio or other similar ones with which to create stickers for WhatsApp. And it is that, the Meta app is not yet adapted to this functionality.
Seeing how exciting this new feature is and how well it works on others like Telegram, WhatsApp is likely to end up being compatible with it soon. However, today it is not possible and the most efficient way to create stickers is still through third-party apps. And that, unfortunately, does not make it such a fast and comfortable process.
