FIFA 22, cross-play is approaching!!
Indeed, the tests currently conducted by Electronic Arts aim to allow players to compete, regardless of their favorite console. Thus, PS5 players will be able to face Xbox Series players, but also… Google Stadia players! A major novelty for this FIFA 22, which will be introduced soon through a simple game update. A “cross-play” that the player can decide to activate or not, via the game settings .
Initially, EA will reserve this cross-play function for the Seasons and Friendly Matches modes. Obviously, in addition to the direct confrontation, FIFA 22 will allow, via its future cross-play option, to make friends on other platforms. Players will be easily identifiable, via a small logo allowing you to see at a glance whether they are playing on Xbox, PlayStation or Google Stadia.
Note that cross-play will only concern consoles called “next gen“, and so much the worse for the owners of PS4 and Xbox One. A cross-play function which should therefore soon integrate the current FIFA 22, and which should be available from the launch of the next opus in the saga, at the end of the year.
Let us recall in passing that the future of the FIFA series could well do without the name… FIFA. Indeed, only a few weeks ago, Electronic Arts seemed to validate the change of name of its famous annual football simulation. A decision probably taken after many disagreements (especially financial) with the famous football federation.
