EA has announced a first price increase in the history of its subscription service. If it was to be expected, the new prices are chilling. In fact, you will need to count around €20 more per year for each formula.
When we think of a subscription video game catalog, we generally think of Xbox Game Pass. But Microsoft’s formula is not the only one on the market. Sony has joined in particular with its PlayStation Plus, which works more or less in the same way. Some publishers even have their own subscription, like Ubisoft with its Ubisoft+ service. On the same principle, EA also offers EA Play, a subscription giving access to all its games in exchange for a few euros per month.
However, all these beautiful people have increased their prices in recent months. Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation resolved this first, while Ubisoft announced the news last. Suffice to say that we did not expect EA to be an exception to the rule. We weren’t wrong. The publisher finally announced the news yesterday: the prices of its subscription plans will increase from May 10. And as expected, the bill is rather steep.

EA Play will get a lot more expensive starting May 10
Here are the new EA Play prices which will apply from May 10:
- Standard EA Play: €5.99 per month/€39.99 per year (compared to €3.99 per month and €24.99 per year)
- EA Play Pro: €16.99 per month/€119.99 per year (compared to €14.99 per month and €99.99 per year)
EA has therefore increased the bill by €15 and €20 on its two annual plans, which is far from negligible. It should nevertheless be noted that the offer remains relatively interesting compared to the competition. For comparison, Ubisoft+ costs €7.99/month and €17.99/month on its two plans. Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus cost more, but their catalog is much larger and updated more often.
Finally, note that this increase will take effect on May 10 for players who already subscribe, but that the new prices are already in effect if you take out a subscription today. If you’re hesitant, don’t forget that an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription also gives you access to the standard EA Play plan, which can be much more interesting.
