In a clear attack on the co-founder of MicrosoftBill Gates, and his knowledge of artificial intelligence, the CEO of TwitterElon Musk claimed that Bill Gates’ knowledge of AI is limited.
This direct and personal attack came in response to a Twitter user’s post about Gates’ involvement in Open AI and his positive attitude towards artificial intelligence. OpenAI, in case you don’t remember, is responsible for the most advanced AI of the moment: ChatGPT.
Elon Musk, in response to a post claiming that Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates was a supporter of AI, said: “I remember the first meetings with Gates. His understanding of AI was limited. still is“.
Earlier this month, in a blog post, Gates wrote about how AI could transform the workforce, healthcare and education. He said that OpenAI’s GPT model is the only technology that has seemed revolutionary to him since the 1980s, when he first saw a graphical interface on a computer.
A co-founder who now repudiates OpenAI and artificial intelligence
Notably, Elon Musk was an early investor in ChatGPT’s parent company, OpenAI, and is credited as a co-founder. He left the company’s board of directors in 2018, citing a conflict of interest with his work at Tesla.
However, certain reports suggest that Elon Musk attempted to directly oversee the company’s operations in 2018, but was rebuffed by his fellow co-founders, including current CEO Sam Altman, who we’ve spoken about on more than one occasion.
As a result of all this, Sam Altman counterattacked the incessant criticism that ChatGPT has received from Elon Musk. And it is that last Thursday Sam Altman called the CEO of Twitter an imbecile after he tweeted in early February that OpenAI had gone from being a non-profit company to one with maximum benefit.
