Oppo continues to roll out ColorOS 12 with Android 12 on its older smartphones and will update devices launched three years ago.
At the end of last year, Oppo unveiled its new ColorOS interface as well as the first smartphones that could benefit from it. As the updates follow one another since the start of the deployment, the Chinese manufacturer takes stock of the arrival of this new version of Android and now reveals the rest of its schedule.
As reported by the XDA Developers site, Oppo indeed shared, on Monday, the next steps in the deployment of ColorOS 12 – and therefore the arrival of Android 12 – on new devices. Two separate calendars are thus planned, depending on the beta version of Android 12 and the update in finalized version.

With this deployment, Oppo will therefore offer Android 12 on relatively old smartphones. For example, the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom was announced in June 2019. The Chinese manufacturer has also already switched many of its more recent smartphones, such as the Oppo Find X3 range or the Find X2 Pro, to Android. 12 through ColorOS 12.
As a reminder, ColorOS 12 adds several functions to Oppo smartphones. This is the case of the new design of the icons with more rounded angles, but also of the floating windows or the customization of the detection of the colors of the system according to the majority hue in the wallpaper.
