Tech News Desk – Social media platform Twitter has made another change in its features. Under the new change, users who have not subscribed to the Twitter Blue feature have been asked to de-select SMS-based two-factor authentication (2FA). The company is asking users to remove this feature by March 19, 2023. Starting March 20, you’ll need to either pay for a Twitter Blue subscription or choose another authentication option to protect your Twitter account from snooping.

Explain that two-factor authentication is a better way to keep your account secure. Through this, users can save their account from being hacked. The company launched two-factor authentication in 2013, offering 3 ways to enable 2FA – text message, security key, and authentication app. Currently, Twitter will charge for text messages, but it’s free for the Security Keys and Authentication app to keep your account secure.

Authentication Apps
You can use third-party apps like Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator, Yubico Authenticator to generate a time based One-Time Password (OTP), which you will need to enter during the login process. You can download these apps on both Android and iOS.

security keys
Twitter supports physical security keys such as the YubiKey. It provides an additional layer of security to the users.
