With the arrival of the pandemic, society had to be reinvented by moving classes and work to the home, and with it the proliferation and increase in traffic in those applications intended for video calls and, Google Meet, perhaps to get a good set of loyal users, decided to embrace free calls for more than two participants.
But since that was an exceptional action, and society has practically returned to normal, Google charges again for those video calls with more than two participants, at least if they exceed 60 minutes.
In this way, Google Meet is already warning users that it returns to the time limit in group calls with three participants or more because now we will only have a maximum of 60 minutes for calls with more than two people.
In this type of calls with more than two participants, after 50 minutes, all users will receive a notice that the call will be cut off a few minutes later, urging them to subscribe and improve their Google account.
It should be clarified that calls between two members, a normal video call to use, yes, they are still free and we can hold meetings for up to 24 hours uninterrupted no need to have a subscription.
According to the current plans that are being handled, those Google Meet members who want video calls with more than two members for more than 60 minutes will have to pay a minimum of €9.99 per month.
