For those who don’t know the Google One app (v1.22, 124MB, iOS 13.0), we’re talking about a utility for your device to “back up your phone and manage your Google storage”. Thus, you will be able to secure the data that you consider important such as photos, contacts and messages.
Today, the developers of the latter have just released a special update, since it allows iPhone users to use a security VPN.
A security VPN available in the Google One app
Get extra protection for your phone with a VPN that encrypts your online activity and enhances the security of your personal information
The VPN in question had already been available on Android devices since 2020, but the latter was slow to point the tip of its nose on iPhone and iPad. This is now done with the new update, since the functionality is now present for users with at least a 2 TB subscription to Google One (€9.99/month or €99.99/year).
Be careful though, if the VPN allows you to secure your Internet browsing, it will not be possible to choose the targeted country.
