Thanks to Google, it becomes even easier to find your favorite dish in a culinary establishment located near your location. Even if for the moment, this functionality remains reserved for the United States.
Do you want a very specific dish, but don’t know which restaurant offers it on its menu in a relatively close area? To this problem, Google is trying to provide a solution with a brand new feature presented in a blog post.
The idea is that your phone can help you in three possible ways. The first is to analyze a dish with the Google Lens tool and add the mention “Nearby” or “Near me” in a dedicated search bar. In doing so, the Californian giant lists the restaurants near you able to serve you said dish.
With a screenshot
This little sleight of hand also applies when taking a screenshot. Again, Google lets you type the words “Nearby” into a search bar and bring up places that might interest you.
Even simpler – and this is the third method presented by the Mountain View firm – just write the name of a dish followed by the terms “Nearby” in the Google search bar, so that restaurants around able to prepare this dish for you is displayed on your screen. Example: “truffle paste nearby”.
For US only
Once again, Google relies on its skills in artificial intelligence to achieve this. But unfortunately, French users will not be able to take advantage of it right away, since this novelty is currently reserved for the United States. To see if a more global deployment will take place later.
