And this year, the firm should ride on the success of Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Normally, in October, it will organize an event to present its new high-end devices, the Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro.
Pixel NotePad and Pixel 7 Ultra in preparation?
But in addition to these two models, whose design has already been presented by Google at its I/O conference in May, two other smartphones are in the works. And according to rumors, the company is preparing to launch a full range to better compete with Samsung, the world number one.
In an article published this week, our colleagues from Sammobile relay information from Chinese sources indicating that Google has finally decided to launch its first folding smartphone. And it would already be in production at Foxconn. The device would be called Pixel Fold or Pixel NotePad.
According to information circulating on the web, Google’s folding smartphone would be closer to Oppo’s Find N than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 3, with a screen that will be in landscape format when unfolded. The diagonal of this foldable screen would be 5.85 inches. And on the back, we would have the same combination of photo sensors as on the Pixel 5: 12.2 megapixels + 16 megapixels.
In addition to this folding smartphone, Foxconn would also produce another Google smartphone, whose name would be Pixel 7 Ultra. In essence, it would be an ultra high-end device, positioned as a competitor to the Galaxy S22 Ultra and the future iPhone 14 Pro Max, with an even more advanced technical sheet than that of the Pixel 7 Pro. This Pixel 7 Ultra would have a 2K screen, in ceramic design, and a camera whose main sensor could have a resolution of 100 megapixels.
Google may not have presented everything yet
As a reminder, during the Google I/O conference in May, the firm presented the Pixel 6a, which is already available, but it also teased the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, the Pixel Watch , as well as a new tablet.
But today, many elements suggest that Google has some surprises in store. Previously, the analysis of the code of an application intended for Pixels revealed references to the future folding smartphone from Google. And a mysterious fourth smartphone, which could well be the Pixel 7 Ultra, has also started to make waves.
Of course, for the moment, all this information is still to be considered with caution, pending formalization.
