A more efficient entry-level model of the Ninebot by Segway, the E2 Pro aims to become the price/performance benchmark for electric scooters under 450 euros. It has just been made official, here is a presentation.
The entry-level Ninebot known by the letter “E” replaced the old “D” in spring 2023, with a more luxurious design and better services. This family then consisted of two models: the E2 E with a floor price of 329 euros, but limited to 20 km/h and the E2 Plus, barely more expensive and traveling at 25 km/h.
But let’s face it, the performance of these electric scooters is quite limited, as is their autonomy. Above all, a gap was felt between them and their big sister F2 starting at 549 euros. The new Ninebot E2 Pro by Segway fixes that: it has just been made official.
The design of this electric scooter remains the same as the other E2s. Ninebot keeps the deck raised forward, the curved steering column, the horizontal screen and the gray handles. Small addition to the E2 Pro: the indicators which finally appear, while the wheels go to 10 inches (compared to 8.1 on the E2 and E2 Plus). These wheels are tubeless type, and should provide better comfort, as well as superior grip.
Great features for the Ninebot E2 Pro
Looking at the wheels, we see that the engine is migrating to the rear. It is in fact more efficient (350 W vs 300 W nominal, and 750 W peak vs 500 W). The scooter will have less difficulty going uphill – it’s more complicated with the E2 Plus on a false level – and even promises to overcome slopes of 18%. When starting up, the E2 Pro recovers the traction control (TCS) from the F2 E and G2 Max, in order to limit slippage on surfaces with poor grip.

The battery is also growing, with a capacity of 275 Wh compared to 220 Wh on the smaller sisters. The Ninebot E2 Pro can thus claim 35 km in Standard mode, and 27 km in Boost mode (the maximum). Another new feature, in addition to connectivity via the Segway-Ninebot application, the Apple Find My function joins the functionalities to more easily geolocate the scooter with its Apple devices.
Rivals who are (literally) no match
With so many modifications, the price logically soars. The Ninebot E2 Pro thus tops out at 449 euros, which places it very attractively compared to the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 at 499 euros. The rival shares the same theoretical autonomy with 10-inch wheels, but is less powerful (300 W nominal and 600 W peak). The Ninebot also beats the Pure Electric Air 3 on paper (also 449 euros), because it is limited to 550 W of maximum power. Downside, the weight swells to 18.8 kg, making it much less transportable compared to the 15-16 kg of competitors.
