The Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro catch your eye but you don’t have the budget to crack? Taking back your old smartphone can lower the bill. We explain how to take advantage of a nice bonus of 100 euros to lower the price of these high-end phones.
Should we still pay full price for a high-end smartphone in 2022? For Bouygues Telecom, the answer is no. The operator can considerably lower the bill thanks to its Recovery Bonus of 100 euros set up on the recent Xiaomi 12T and Xiaomi 12T Pro.
This attractive bonus is added to the trade-in amount for your current smartphone. The principle is simple: by having Bouygues Telecom take over your current smartphone, you lower the price of new Xiaomi flagships. Depending on the power and age of your old smartphone, it is therefore possible to reduce the price of the two new flagships of Xiaomi by up to half, if they are taken on the sidelines of a Sensation mobile plan.
What are the benefits of recovery?
Increasingly democratized in recent years, the reconditioning of smartphones already used offers at least two interests. Ecological first of all since the return to the circuit of a modern telephone in perfect condition makes it possible to reduce the consumption of new products, and therefore to encourage manufacturers to produce less.
The other advantage is it economic. Taking back your current smartphone or the devices that sleep in your cupboards allows you to save tens or even hundreds of euros on the bill for your new phone.
An economy that is often boosted by certain operators like Bouygues Telecom when they set up a recovery bonus. At the moment, for example, a trade-in bonus of 100 euros is valid on the recent Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro. By reselling a Samsung Galaxy S21 in good condition, for example, you can reduce the price of the Xiaomi 12T by 389 euros (289 euros trade-in + 100 euros bonus).
The Xiaomi 12T Pro: the photo above all
With the Xiaomi 12T Pro, the manufacturer puts the emphasis on photography. The photo module of the Xiaomi 12T Pro is adorned with a 200 megapixel main camera, an 8 megapixel sensor for ultra wide-angle and a 2 megapixel macro camera.
Suffice to say that the Xiaomi 12T Pro has no problem capturing very sharp and very precise shots. A performance due to the better capture of ambient light by the 200 megapixel camera. Software processing is not to be outdone and can be useful in many circumstances. Thus, the smartphone’s night mode combined with Pixel Binning technology offers particularly realistic night photos. The ProFocus mode, on the other hand, allows you to maintain focus when the subject is in motion. And this for both photos and videos filmed in 8K.
The technical sheet of the Xiaomi 12T Pro is at the level of its photo versatility. It features a 6.67-inch CrystalRes AMOLED panel with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. On the performance side, it relies on a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 which guarantees fluid daily use, even in the most demanding tasks.
Natively, the Xiaomi 12T Pro runs on Android 12 (with the MIUI 13 interface). As always, it’s a very easy-to-use OS that gives you access to the Google Play Store, rich with millions of applications. Above all, Android allows good customization of the interface, both from an aesthetic point of view and in terms of accessibility.
A processor that also acts on autonomy by being less energy-consuming. This allows the Xiaomi 12T Pro to take full advantage of its 5,000 mAh battery to last a full day of use. Not to mention that the HyperCharge 120W fast charge allows you to fully recharge it in 20 minutes.
Sold 799 euros naked, the Xiaomi 12T Pro benefits from a trade-in bonus of 100 euros if taken in addition to a Sensation package. This means that you can save up to 389 euros on its price by reselling a Samsung Galaxy S21 thanks to the combination of the resale price and the trade-in bonus.
The Xiaomi 12 T: the best value for money
Impossible to hide it, the Xiaomi 12T looks a lot like the Pro version. It’s simple: they are identical in terms of design and screen. Even the autonomy is identical since it also has a large 5,000 mAh battery compatible with 120 W fast charging.
It is in the photo configuration that the Xiaomi 12T differs. Indeed, the photo module is satisfied with a sensor of “only” 108 megapixels. A sensor that is still very rarely found on competing smartphones. Change also at the level of the processor, which becomes a MediaTek Dimensity 8100-ultra. The performance is excellent and allows you to run 3D games in optimal quality or to chain multitasking without slowing down. Of course, we find Android 12 and MIUI 13, and therefore a pleasant interface to use daily.
The last difference is its price. The Xiaomi 12T is sold for 649 euros, which is 150 euros less than the Xiaomi 12T Pro. That said, he also benefits from a 100 euro recovery bonus with a Sensation mobile plan. You can therefore take advantage of the same reduction of 389 euros by reselling a Samsung Galaxy S21, a reduction of more than half of its price.
How to recover your smartphone?
As with changing operators, Bouygues Telecom has simplified the procedures for taking over an old mobile. Once on the operator’s site, choose “estimate your mobile”. In this section, indicate the model of your old smartphone concerned, its brand or its IMEI, then specify the general condition of the device. The amount of the recovery will then be communicated to you.
Better, the pages of the smartphones concerned by the Bouygues Telecom Bonus takeover also include an estimation module.
