A few days ago, Apple presented its quarterly results. These showed that despite the shortages faced by the Cupertino company, its products sold very well during the holiday season, except for the iPad (Apple mentions major problems with the supply of components ).
In its fiscal first quarter of 2022, the company’s revenue was $123.9 billion, an all-time high. “This quarter’s record results were made possible by our most innovative suite of products and services ever”, said Tim Cook, CEO of Apple.
Apple: the number of devices in use continues to increase
And as reported by the MacRumours site, the Apple boss also took advantage of the presentation of these quarterly results to announce that now there are more than 1.8 billion active Apple devices in the world. This number takes into account the iPhone, of course, but also other devices such as the iPad Touch, the iPad, the Macs, the Apple TV, or even the Apple Watch.
The number of Apple devices in use also continues to grow since January 2020. The Cupertino company claimed 1.5 billion active devices. And in January 2021, it claimed 1.65 billion devices.
Note that regularly, Apple also shares data on only the iPhone. The latest statistic dates back to January 2021. The firm had claimed over a billion iPhone users worldwide.
A number that will increase further in 2022, the firm has indeed planned a rain of novelties
As mentioned above, Apple’s latest quarterly results are excellent, and its revenues were up for all product categories except the iPad. And normally, this year, the Cupertino company should still be a hit.
Indeed, it provides a rain of novelty for its fans, and for those who would be tempted to abandon Android and Windows to switch to the Apple ecosystem. Of course, there are the future iPhone 14s.
And those who want an affordable iPhone, normally this first half, Apple should also launch a new iPhone SE. This should keep the same format, and have a modest technical sheet, but it would use the A15 Bionic chip, a guarantee of performance, with a 5G modem. This formula could be particularly attractive for Android users.
A new iPad Air could also be launched this first half. But most of Apple’s new releases are expected to arrive this fall. These include new Macs using the new M2 chip, several Apple Watch models, and new AirPods Pro.
Note also that Apple should soon enter a new market: that of AR / VR. Moreover, rumors had suggested that the first AR / VR helmet of the firm could be unveiled in June during the WWDC. But ultimately, due to technical issues, Apple is now considering postponing this presentation.
