Elon Musk has decided to change the blue icon with the Twitter bird for the new one with an X on a black background. He Twitter owner has initiated a drastic change in the social network that can bring important news, and it has started with the famous icon and name of the application.
Twitter is no longer Twitter, it is now called simply X, and its icon has completely changed. However, if you don’t like this change, you can put the classic Twitter icon back in the app, you can even change its name. For a long time we can change the icons of the iPhone apps in iOS, and that is what we are going to do with X to return its classic name and image.
Change the X icon to Twitter
After the recent update, Twitter for iPhone is now officially X. But if you don’t like the new icon and new name, you can change them to the old blue bird icon, you can even change the app name to Twitter.
Change the X icon to Twitter on the iPhone it is quite simple since the system itself allows it. You will be able to have the little bird back and continue using the app as before. These are the steps you should follow on your iPhone:
- Download the original Twitter icon from here on your iPhone.
- Enter the Shortcuts app on your iPhone.
- In the top right, tap on the “+”.
- Tap at the top, where it says “New Shortcut.”
- Click on Rename and type Twitter.
- Hit Add action and look for Open app.
- Tap on Open app and then on the “App” box.
- Find X and select the app.
- In the top right, tap on Ok.
- Click on the 3 dots of the Twitter shortcut and tap on Add to home screen.
- Tap on the icon and select photo, choose the Twitter icon that you downloaded before and tap on Add.
You will now have two icons on your iPhone home screen, the new one for X and the old one for Twitter. You will be able to use any of them to open the application. AND, whatever Elon Musk wants, you can continue using the innocuous classic of Twitteralthough this has changed.
