It is possible that it has happened to you, possibly more than once, that you are trying to update or download an application from the Play Store as you normally do but the download does not start, and if you go into the Play Store to see what happens you see a download pending. Has it happened to you? Well then, we hope it doesn’t happen to you again, but just in case it does, we’ll show you how to fix this bug.
There are several ways to solve them, we hope that one of them will help you. This will fix this problem that has been around for a long time, although over time it has been fixed, if you have an older device and it happens to you, you will probably have to do one of these things that we mentioned.
Activate the use of data in the background
First of all is activate the use of data in the background for the Play Store. It does not mean that the Play Store does not work in the background, in fact it does. But sometimes it can cause a conflict, especially if you are in power saving mode, which can affect the background use of certain apps.
As always, this option is always in different places depending on the manufacturer, but more or less it will always be in similar places. The option in question is data usage and within it we will have to modify the data saving.. In my case, what do I use? Huawei for example, I find it in Wireless connections and networks > Data usage > Smart data saver > From system, there we look for the Google Play Store and select it, so it will not have restrictions when used in the background.
In Android Stock you will find it in Settings > Data usage > Data saver > unrestricted data and there select the Play Store the same.
Stop automatic updates and pending updates
Another option would be to stop automatic updates and pending updates, since the download may be pending because you are updating other apps first. So if you disable or pause automatic updates, you can prioritize the app that suits you best.
To do so, open the Play Store, go to the options (the three lines at the top left) and go to My apps and games. There you can pause the current downloads and select the one you want to update or download.
empty cache
Another option is to clear the cache or stop the application. To do this we will have to do it from the storage options and search for the app you need. Not long ago we already told you in Android Help how to empty the cache of your Android, follow this step-by-step tutorial you can do it without problem.
Once you complete it, this will allow you to correct the cache and on the other hand, you can do it directly whenever you deem it appropriate if you get the Play Store error. Recommended if you need to restart a specific applicationboth for the memory that you get to empty and for the aforementioned cache.
To quickly clear the cache, perform the following steps:
- Unlock the phone and go to “Settings”
- Once inside, go to “Applications” and look for the “Play Store”
- Once inside, go to the option below where it says “Cache”click on “Clear cache” and confirm
- If you have done it, it will tell you to confirm again, this is necessary if you want it to restart with it
Reinsert the SD
Sometimes if your phone has an SD card it may be causing problems with the Play Store. So try removing the card, updating and reinserting it. If you have apps on the SD, just reinsert it and update it again, this is recommended if you want to repair it on your own.
Sometimes we remove this accessory without knowing if the system pulls it by being able to have an application installed, since it can be given the necessary permissions in our case. Use only the SD that you have had on that mobile phone and not anothersince it would affect in any case and any of the apps would not work.
Do not format it outside of your phone, as there is a lot of information on it., the application inside it has come to lose everything, so it would make any of them useless. On the other hand, what is recommended is that if you have done so, you have to reinstall application by application until its total.
Unlink your Google account
If after all this you are so unlucky that it still doesn’t work, try unlinking your google account. We also recently told you how to unlink a Gmail account. Following the steps of the first option you can unlink your Google account, you do it and then you synchronize it again.
To do this you have to follow a few steps, which are strictly necessary, anyway if you do it and put it back it should work. If not, try one of the points abovewhich are usually just as reliable, it is also recommended that you have to restart the phone.
You have to go to Users and accounts to do it.
Reset the phone, the latest
If nothing has worked for you so far, one of the things you can do is reset the device completely, what is recommended is to do this step in both possible ways. Resetting a device from the terminal settings is the fast track, which will take you around a minute after you start with it.
If you want to reset the device, do the following on your phone: unlock and click on “Settings”, once inside go to “System and updates” (this may vary depending on the brand-model) and inside look for “Reset”, click on it and click on Reset phone”, confirm and confirm again to finish.
Once all the steps are done, you will again have quick access to the Play Store, without showing you the “Download pending” message in any of the apps.
These are our recommendations. Have they served you?
