Although we are used to it being like this, this may change. According to the calendar published in the BOE by the Ministry of the Presidency, it is intended that the time change be set until October 25, 2026 but that it may come to an end later. A fact that all the countries of the European Union would still have to agree on and that still has to be decided. At the moment, we change the time twice a year and come spring all our clocks go forward one hour.

Check if the time change will be made

If you want to check on all your devices that the time change is going to take place, there are a series of steps that we must follow to find out if it is correctly configured or not.

On Android mobile

If you have an Android mobile phone, the steps that we must follow will take us to the settings to check if we have correctly configured the summer time.

  • Open the settings of your Android mobile phone
  • Look for the “General” or “System Settings” section
  • Once here, look for the “Date and time” section
  • tap on her

You will see a number of options. Look for the “Set time automatically” button and make sure the switch is checked so that it is modified when necessary. In addition, it is advisable that you notice that the switch is also activated in the function “Set time zone automatically” so that the time zone that your mobile phone has configured coincides with the one you are in.

While these are the usual steps to make sure it’s turned on automatically, there may be slight changes to the steps you can or should follow. Each Android has a different customization layer and this means that it can vary from one to another depending on the exact model you have or the brand of it.

Android settings

On an iOS phone

If you have an iOS mobile phone, the steps we must follow to check the time are also very simple and we will do it from device settings.

  • Open the settings of our iPhone
  • Go to the “General” section
  • Once here, look for the section “Date and Time”

When we have reached this section, look for “Auto adjust” and we must check that the option is activated so that, when the time comes, the time coincides with what we should have on Sunday morning.

Also, as in the case of Android, we must ensure that the time zone that we have configured corresponds to the time zone in which we are.

Change time iOS

on a smart watch

In the smart watch it will depend on the brand and model that we must follow some steps or others to modify the date and time and to make sure that it is changed automatically. But generally it will be enough to connect to the phone, which will have already modified its time if you have followed the previous steps, and it will be linked and updated automatically. Or, on most watches, it will suffice to activate the GPS function for the device to track our location and automatically set the date and time without having to do anything else.

If not, the steps will depend on each smartwatch model and it is recommended that you look for the exact steps of each brand through the instruction manual. Search the model on the Internet and download the manual to know what to do.

In the computer

On your Windows computer you can also set the date and time automatically from settings so you don’t have to change it.

  • We go to the Windows Start menu
  • We open the computer configuration section
  • We choose the section “time and language”, as in the capture

Once here, we check if the button is activated “set time automatically”. If so, at the top of the configuration menu screen you will see the time you were checking it and the exact date.

How to change the time manually

If you do not trust the automatic adjustment, you can manually set the time on your mobile phone from the settings of the mobile phone and it will take us a few seconds. Although you should configure it automatically to avoid problems, you can also do it by following this method if you like it or are more convinced.

on android

The steps that we must follow in Android to adjust the time are:

  • Open the settings of your mobile phone
  • Go to section “system settings”
  • Look for the date and time section

Once here, with the button “set time automatically” unchecked, we can choose the date and time. Tap on “date” and a sliding menu will open where you can choose the day, month and year. As for the time, the same thing will happen. You will see a menu with the hours and minutes and you just have to choose the one that corresponds.

As in the previous case, it will vary depending on the customization layer of your mobile phone or tablet, even if they all have Android as their operating system.

settings

on iOS

If the automatic adjustment does not work or you simply want to change the time manually in iOS, we must follow the same steps as in the previous case but access the date and time settings and manually choose the data…

  • We open the General section of the iPhone in settings
  • We touch on “Date and time”
  • we will see that the “automatic adjustment” is unchecked
  • You will have to choose your time zone (where you see “Madrid” in the example)
  • Choose the date on the calendar, as in the screenshot
  • Choose the time it is at the time of setting

Once you have it ready, all that remains is to save.

IOS

on windows

If you want to adjust the date and time manually in Windows, you can also do it from settings, in the same window where we check whether or not this option is automatically activated. The steps are very simple.

  • We open the Windows configuration
  • Let’s go to “Time and language”
  • The “Date and time” section will open
  • Uncheck “set time automatically”
  • Look for the section “set the date and time manually”
  • Tap on the button “Change”
  • A new window will open on your computer.
  • Use the dropdown menu to choose what time it is and what day it is
  • When you finish, confirm with “Change”

If you want to make sure that everything is changed, touch the button “sync now”
