The message that any millennial or member of Generation Z fears the most is: “your phone storage is about to run out.” This means we’ve run out of room for more memes. For many, the end of the world made warning.
Today mobile phones have considerably increased their storage options. The average 10 years ago was 8 gigabytes of internal memory. Now the average is 128 GB and rising. There are even mobiles that offer the option of 2 TB of storage (at a gold price at Apple, by the way).
That is why it is rare to see such a message on our iPhone, but it keeps appearing. And, when it does, the best thing to do is start trembling… or continue reading this article where we explain how to get our phone to free up some space in iOS to keep collecting memes.
Let’s see what options we have to improve the space of our iphone, because not everything happens by leaving money in between, although this is a good option. But there are more and definitely cheaper. even his own iOS will offer it to us.
Buying a new phone is not an option, Apple gives you the solution
And it is that you can delete large files, such as movies, TV shows and music albums, but you may not be ready to give them up. There are also several cloud alternatives to increase existing storage.but that requires moving the place files, and you may have to pay for it.
You can also buy a new phone with more storage space, but it is an expensive option and If you are here it is because you are looking for a cheap, fast, simple option that you can do in two minutes. You are in the right place.
Optimize your iPhone photos and videos with iOS itself
It’s not always easy to delete what’s on your camera roll, so if you want to keep your most precious memories, or even your memes, but want to free up space on your device, the easiest way to do this is by optimizing the photos and videos that are already stored on the device.
By default, every time you take a photo or record a video, it is saved in full resolution on your device. If you capture photos and videos in the highest possible resolution, they can take up quite a bit of space. A minute of video recorded in 4K at 60 fps takes up almost half a GB. This is a lot.
To optimize your photos and videos, go to Settings > Photos and turn on Optimize iPhone storage (You’ll need to have the iCloud Photos setting above it turned on for this to work.) This can take a long time, but it’s worth it.
Then all your full-resolution photos and videos are transferred to iCloud, while the smaller, lower-resolution versions stay on your device to take up less space.
If you want to access your higher resolution photos and videos, you can go to the Photos app and download any files that are being optimized, but you need a good internet connection to do this. With this your iOS will go looser and your iPhone 14 will thank you.
