Samsung Electronics has announced the launch of a new curious function for users who have in their homes with smart devices, gadgets and home appliances from the Korean manufacturer.

Map View promises to simplify home management by converting real plans into virtual images in the SmartThings app. This way, users can see their devices and adjust parameters such as lightingtemperature, air quality and energy consumption anytime, anywhere.
The previous version of Map View was a 2D model that only worked if you manually detailed the home plan. However, this new 3D update to Map View Take advantage of spatial Artificial Intelligence (AI) on Samsung devices and uses the devices’ LiDAR sensors to measure and map the layout of a home.
It has also improved its filter function to allow a more efficient supervision and control of the necessary devices, offering, according to Samsung, a more personalized and easy-to-use smart service through AI.
In addition, in the future users will also be able to add family and friends to the SmartThings ecosystem at home. through a simple QR code that they can scan from their mobile phones.
In this way, instead of browsing through a list of connected devices from your mobile, Map View will allow us to see a 3D representation of our house directly from our mobile phones. Within this map we can find the icons that represent each connected device in the ecosystem and its physical location in the home.
Price and availability
Map View was initially launched in Korea and the United States last year, but can now be used in all countries with access to the SmartThings app.
The new Map View is available free through the SmartThings app on Android and iOS mobile devices, as well as on televisions. Controls for this feature will also be available through other devices, such as Family Hub refrigerators, during the first half of the year.
