The presentation of iOS 17 has left us with a lot of interesting news, from those presented by Apple on its WWDC 2023 stage, to those not mentioned but just as exciting. In this last list we find an interesting feature that will allow you to maintain order in the message tray from your iPhone.
When companies started including messaging verification features, many of us were glad for the extra layer of security. Some time later, and seeing the amount of old codes accumulated, we cannot feel the same emotion. Nevertheless, a feature called Auto Clean and available in iOS 17 takes this problem out of our minds.
Auto Clean does just what it says on the tin. Once you receive and have used the verification code to access a certain service, your iPhone with iOS 17 will detect the message and proceed to delete it.
But this is not the only novelty. While the feature that allows the iPhone to automatically detect and fill in security codes was already pretty good, Apple has managed to make it even better. Starting with iOS 17, your devices will also be able to do the same with those codes sent to your email address.
Until now, the only way to fill in the verification codes received in this way was to exit the app in question, go to your email manager and copy/paste it, or type it letter by letter. While the process wasn’t too cumbersome either, it’s these kinds of details that allow us to bridge the gap between technology and everyday life.
How to activate automatic code cleaning in iOS 17

Activating this feature is a fairly simple process, although it requires that you have iOS 17 installed on your device. If you meet this, the first thing will be to go to the Settings application on your iPhone.
In this menu go to the Passwords section. Here section you will find a new feature called Auto Clean –Clean Up Automatically in English-. Of course, you will want to activate it.
Ready. From this moment, iOS 17 will automatically delete all those messages full of verification codes that you no longer need. The best part is that it also works with the Mail app, so the system will take care of removing those emails of this same nature. Thus, you can have a clean and tidy inbox.
iOS 17 has not been officially released, although you can already install the first beta for developers. Nevertheless, stable public release is scheduled for some point in the fallso we will have to wait a few months to try it.
