Comparison of each iPad Pro, by sections
Design and screen
The design of this range has taken several years to change in this new generation. He has done it with a thinner structure and tighter screen bezels. The front camera has also changed its position, moving to a horizontal layoutwhich improves both Face ID unlocking and your visibility when making video calls.
On the screen we find another big change. If the 2022 model had an LCD panel, now the 2024 iPad Pro has one OLED screen, with much more vivid, bright colors and purer blacks. It also increases the maximum nits, going from 600 to 1,000.
Hardware
The other big news is inside this iPad Pro 2024. And the company has taken advantage of the launch of this new tablet to develop another processor, which is the M4 chip. Taking into account that the 2022 model had the M2, the difference may be notable, to say the least.
The new chip has 9 cores and up to 10 cores for the 1 TB and 2 TB versions, in addition to being manufactured in a three-nanometer process. The M2 of the iPad Pro 2022 was manufactured in 5 nanometers.
Battery
From here on, the differences are very slight. Although in figures Apple leaves the autonomy of both models equal, the truth is that the battery life of the new iPad Pro remains to be seen.
On the one hand, the M4 chip can offer the same performance as the M2 using half the energy. But, on the other hand, the OLED panel results in higher energy consumption than the LCD panel.
Photographic section
There is not much to comment on in terms of sensors and number of megapixels. In the rear camera, the only thing that stands out is the absence of the ultra-wide angle, present in the iPad Pro 2022. A decision by Apple to say the least curious and that is hidden by putting the LiDAR scanner just below the main camera.
Connectivity and compatible accessories
In connectivity, the new model has the same standards as its predecessor in terms of wireless connections and USB-C port.
Of course, the accessories are the great attraction to complement the tablet to have more functionalities. Apple has launched a new Apple Pencil Pro with a new haptic engine and with which the iPad Pro 2024 is exclusively compatible. Likewise, the new Magic Keyboard comes with a larger Trackpad and function keys.
