Indian blog 91Mobiles has just published a series of renders believed to be based on factory CAD files of Apple’s upcoming iPhone 14 Pro. A new confirmation of the change in design of the front of the high-end smartphone which would finally drop the notch in favor of a punch + pill duo allowing you to take advantage of the OLED screen a little more.
More iPhone 14 Pro renders
Apple is expected to remove the notch only on the “Pro” models of the iPhone 14 series, and the images give an idea of the final look with two cutouts near the top of the screen.
Converging rumors and leaks have indicated that in the absence of a notch, a hole will be used for the Face ID dot projector, while the pill-shaped cutout is supposed to house the front camera and the Face IR camera. ID. CAD images show that the speaker grill will remain recessed into the top bezel, as was the case on the iPhone 13s which have had their notch reduced in width.
On the other hand, and contrary to a rumor by Jon Prosser, the back of the device seems unchanged compared to the iPhone 13 Pro, with the triple lens module housed in a bump that protrudes from the chassis. In September, Prosser claimed that the iPhone 14 would get a thicker titanium chassis to completely integrate the lenses, LED flash, and LiDAR scanner flush with the rear glass. We even showed it in our iPhone 14 Pro concept:
Prosser’s sources also claimed that the new models will have round volume buttons and redesigned speaker and microphone grilles, but then again, these latest industrial renders only show the same oblong buttons and grilles that users of ‘iPhone already know.
Apple is expected to release four models labeled “iPhone 14” this year, two 6.1-inch sizes and two 6.7-inch sizes, thus ditching the iPhone 14 mini. The hole and pill cutouts should only be present on the highest-end variants of the iPhone 14, while the two iPhone 14 models below will continue to feature a notch.
Additionally, Apple is reportedly looking to further differentiate the Pro models from the rest this year, in that only the Pro models will take advantage of the A16 processor, while the mainstream models will retain the same A15 chip as the iPhone 13 series. does not convince us and which would contrast with the habits of Apple. You have to go back to the original iPhone and the iPhone 3G, both of which used identical ARM 11,412 MHz chips, to find evidence of such a decision.
