A few days before the presentation event of the new iPhone 15 series by Apple, there are still speculations and leaks about the batteries that these smartphones will carry with them.
As Apple’s long-awaited iPhone 15 launch approaches, leaks and rumors are reaching a fever pitch.
It is expected that along with the iPhone 15, Apple will present the Plus, Pro and Pro Max versions, and everything indicates that this event will take place in mid-September. Although these dates have yet to be officially confirmed, numerous leaks suggest that it could happen on September 12.
Among the juiciest leaks are the possible details about the batteries and charging capacities of the new iPhone 15 models.
Although it is not confirmed information, all these speculations give everyone a slight idea of what to expect regarding this very vital specification for smartphones.
These are the expected battery capacities of the new iPhone 15 series
iPhone 15
As for the iPhone 15, it has been leaked that this model could incorporate a 3,877 mAh battery, a considerable increase of 18% compared to the 3,279 mAh battery that promoted the iPhone 14. Although this leak is based on statements by a Foxconn worker, the company that makes iPhones, it still has to be taken with a grain of salt, since it has not been confirmed by official sources.
However, if this leak were to be true, significant improvements in the battery life of this mobile could be expected. This would add to the likely efficiency gain due to the new chipset, which could result in a much improved overall experience.
The load also has its share of prominence. The iPhone 15 is expected to feature the highly anticipated USB-C port, replacing the Lightning connector. Additionally, there has been speculation that some models might support faster charging, with speeds up to 35W instead of the iPhone 14’s 20W.
An additional feature that has been the subject of speculation is reverse wireless charging. Although this feature has yet to be officially confirmed, the possibility has been mentioned that the iPhone 15 could act as a wireless charging pad for other devices, such as AirPods or Apple Watch.
iPhone 15 Plus, Pro and Pro Max
Taking a look at other versions of the iPhone 15, the iPhone 15 Plus model could come equipped with a 4,912 mAh batterywhich would represent an increase of 14% compared to the 4,323 mAh battery of the iPhone 14 Plus.
While it can be considered a big improvement in battery capacity, it’s important to note that the increase doesn’t take into account the potential impact of the new A16 Bionic chipset, so be very careful how it will affect performance.
Despite this, and as commented from TechRadarthis could translate to around 30 hours of video playback or 114 hours of audio playback, compared to 26 hours and 100 hours respectively with the iPhone 14 Plus.
As for the iPhone 15 Pro, it has been mentioned a 3,650 mAh batteryan increase of 14% compared to the iPhone 14 Pro. However, as with other models, the true impact of this improvement on the battery will depend largely on the performance and efficiency of the A17 Bionic chipset, which is expected that accompanies the iPhone 15 Pro.
Finally, the iPhone 15 Pro Max could feature a 4,852 mAh battery, which would mean a 12% increase compared to the iPhone 14 Pro Max. While this percentage increase is minor compared to other models, it’s still interesting to mention.
As with the other models, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is also expected to introduce the USB-C port and possibly faster charging, along with the potential reverse wireless charging feature.
Although these leaks and rumors are quite reliable and offer a glimpse of what could come with the launch of the iPhone 15, It is important to remember that the information has not been officially confirmed by Apple.
