Apple is expected to launch its next-generation iPhone lineup in 2024, and thanks to leaked information and 3D renders from MacRumors, we have a good idea of what the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro will look like Max.
The iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max won't launch for at least 9 months, but before that, we already know roughly what they'll look like. If MacRumors information is to be believed, these should not be very different from current models, with a few exceptions.
These two devices will be the high-end models of the iPhone 16 range and will feature larger screens, a new camera system and a new button layout. Here's everything we already know.

Apple wants even bigger iPhones for 2024
The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature a 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch OLED display, respectively, which is slightly larger than the 6.1-inch and 6.1-inch displays. 7 inches of the current iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The reason for this increase in size could be linked to a new 5x tetraprism telephoto camera, which will be available on both Pro models this year. This camera will offer a higher optical zoom than the 3x telephoto lens of the iPhone 15 Pro, and will be similar to that of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The larger screens will allow Apple to integrate the tetraprism telephoto lens on both devices, without compromising battery life or design.
The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will also feature a new button layout, which will include an Action button and a Capture button. The Action button is a versatile button that can be customized to perform different functions, like launching Siri, taking screenshots, or enabling accessibility features. The Action button will be similar to the one on the iPhone 15 Pro and will be located on the left side of the device, below the volume buttons.
The Capture button will be new on the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, and will be used to take videos. According to the information we already have, it would be a capacitive button with a force sensor, located on the right side of the device, below the power button. The Capture button will be flush with the frame of the device and will not protrude like other buttons. The Capture button will also require Apple to move the mmWave antenna from the right side to the left side of the device, at least on US models.
Note also that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will retain the curved edges and titanium frame that Apple introduced with the iPhone 15 Pro. The titanium frame will be made from grade 5 titanium (Ti-6Al-4V), a strong, lightweight material that resists scratches and corrosion.
As for colors, Apple's prototypes use a “Silver” color, marketed by Apple under the name “White Titanium”. However, it is not yet known whether or not this will be used for one of the final models. iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will also have the same pill as iPhone 15 Pro on the screenwhich houses the Face ID system and the selfie camera.
As a reminder, the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max should be launched in 2024, at the same time as the iPhone 16 Plus. The smartphone release is still quite far away, so it could be that Apple will still make some changes to its devices between now and then. We will obviously keep you informed if new prototypes emerge.
