The Wormhole platform that is dedicated to the exchange of tokens has reported that it has suffered a great theft of Ethereum.
If it seems that in the past there were more bank robberies and it is a recurring theme in television series, today we are beginning to get used to reading about big thefts or security problems in the cryptocurrency sector. This situation leads us to the fact that sometimes there are even those who claim that they do it for fun.
During the last two days, the platform to exchange Wormhole tokens has been in the news after a temporary suspension of its service and for the information it transmitted through its Twitter account. As published, They have lost 320 million dollars in an attack with Ethereum cryptocurrency theft.
These were the messages they posted on their social networks:
The wormhole network was exploited for 120k wETH. ETH will be added over the next hours to ensure wETH is backed 1:1. More details to come shortly. We are working to get the network back up quickly. Thanks for your patience.

As they explained, a vulnerability was exploited in one of the “bridges” that are used between the source and destination blockchain to the theft of millions of Ethereum. Apparently there was no problem and it is a system similar to that of other platforms, at least until someone found a security hole.
To reassure everyone in Wormhole they have been quick to clarify that their funds are backed and that users will not be left without money. In addition, they will try to motivate the return of what was extracted by the criminal.
Wormhole has featured 10 million dollars to the person who has attacked them in exchange for returning the stolen, they publish in The Verge. This money would come as a reward for discovering the vulnerability. A strategy that recently worked for Poly Network.
The fact is that these types of actions have stopped surprising despite the large amount of money they move. There is much to improve in the cryptocurrency market, such as the platforms for their exchange.
