Apple will not present any new iPad Pro during WWDC23 or in the remainder of the year.
A great revolution is coming in the tablet industry, Apple is preparing a great update with very important changes in its line of iPad products with OLED screens with hybrid technology and other hardware innovations for a launch that will be available throughout of the year 2024.
These novelties related to the next generation of iPad Pro will have a great impact in the market. Let’s remember that the sales figures for the iPad have completely dominated the sector for many years and, now, with the implementation of OLED screens, its success will be unstoppable.
Apple will launch a new iPad Pro with an OLED screen in the spring of 2024
In his last post for BloombergMark Gurman has specified that the launch of the new iPad Pro with OLED screen will take place during the spring of 2024. As a point against it, it is very likely that this year we will not attend the presentation of any iPad Pro update.
This was already something that was more or less known since the beginning of the year, in our analysis of which iPad models would be presented in 2023 we did not see any reason why Apple should present a new iPad Pro this year. But adoption of OLED technology will be reason enough to renew the iPad Pro line.
The development of the iPad Pro with an OLED screen must be quite advanced by now. Otherwise Mark Gurman would not dare to make such specific statements. In addition, Apple requested the mass production of OLED panels from Samsung and LG in the month of February 2023.
“The next iPad Pro is planned for spring 2024 at the earliest.”
The “big changes” that Mark Gurman refers to have to do with the development of hybrid OLED panel technology with a rigid glass substrate and a flexible encapsulation layer. This technology will enable the creation of much finer OLED panels.
Unfortunately, the new batch of iPad Pros with an OLED screen will be the most exorbitantly priced ever.
On the other hand, Mark Gurman has also advanced that Apple plans to present up to three different models of Mac products at its WWDC23: a 13-inch MacBook Aira 15-inch MacBook Air and a 13-inch MacBook Pro.
We will remain attentive to all the news related to the development of iPad Pro with OLED screenalthough everything seems to indicate that we will have to continue waiting until 2024.
