Much has been speculated around this device as it is a new effort to build and grow the metaverse, in which the company owned by Facebook has invested billions of dollars.
In May of this year, Meta released its roadmap for its virtual reality project where Cambria would be the earliest to arrive, although another 3 would be on the way in the next 2 years.
Now, in the Joe Rogan podcast, Mark Zuckerberg anticipated that the next Meta reality viewer would arrive in October and everything indicates that we are talking about the rumored Cambria project.
According to the statements issued by Zuckerberg, the headset codenamed “Project Cambria” could at least be presented within the framework of the annual Connect event. At the beginning of the podcast, the Meta leader stated that “for the next device that will come out in October there are some important features”.

To this, the mention of what is presumed to be some of the functions that the aforementioned device will have was added:
“For the next device that will come out in October, there are some important features. (…) The ability to now have a kind of eye contact in virtual reality,” Zuckerberg said as part of the list of features. “Have your face tracked that way your avatar, it’s not just this still thing, but if you smile or if you frown or if you pout, or whatever your expression is, have that translate in real time to your avatar”.
These mentions coincide with what we know so far of Project Cambria, which is speculated to have a high-resolution color screen, internal eye-tracking sensors and advanced augmented reality technology.
Since Bloomberg indicated a few weeks ago, the leaked code behind this device suggests that it could be called Meta Quest Pro, while various sources are considering the idea that it could be accompanied by a low cost Meta Quest.
