In recent times I define life as that event that occurs since the first season ‘Separation’ ended and until the second season is released. The popular Apple TV+ series known as ‘Severance’ for its English title went black almost two years ago, on April 8, 2022. It was with the broadcast of the ninth chapter and making it clear that it was a prelude to an already confirmed second season.
However, Continuous delays in filming took a toll on his return. So much so that a year ago there was talk of a possible cancellation. Fortunately no blood reached the river and in January it was confirmed that they had rolled again. Ben Stiller, the well-known actor from films like ‘Night at the Museum’, is the director of this science fiction series and in a recent interview he left us fans very good news.
The filming of ‘Separation’ will end soon and its premiere should not be delayed
The aforementioned director of the series recently visited the Roommates Show channel for a relaxed talk in which they discussed a good part of Stiller’s professional career. And that’s where the questions about ‘Separation’ also arose. This confirmed the immense problems they had during filming, with several breaks in between, but it also showed the light at the end of the tunnel.
Although Stiller affirms that there is no specific date for its release, he does say that They will finish filming the second season of ‘Separación’ in April. Therefore, there is only a month or less left for the work on the recording sets to be completed and everything to move into post-production. A subsequent job that is by no means easy or fast, but that should not take too long. Surely not as much as the filming.
Although there are no dates, we can guess that By summer it could already be ready for broadcast. This does not mean that Apple will give the green light to release it at that time, given that everything must fit in with the commercial release policy of its streaming platform. It is not in the summer that great series emerge, but the truth is that some like ‘Ted Lasso’, which is the most successful on Apple TV+, arrived precisely in the summer season.
If you ask me personally, not as a fan of the series, but as an Apple TV+ connoisseur and analyst, I would tell you that It will most likely be released in the fall.. It is likely that they will issue previews in September and it may even arrive then. We remember that it is one of the platform’s big bets and that it is that month in which one of the events of the year is celebrated: the presentation of the new iPhone. Showing a trailer or already giving a release date in the same scenario in which the iPhone 16 is presented does not sound very crazy.
Two years of breaks and many plots to resolve
As we said in previous lines and Ben Stiller himself confirmed, ‘Separation’ has had a second season confirmed since its first season premiered. In fact, maybe before, since its ending made it clear that the series had a continuation already planned by its creator.
What happened is that ‘Separación’ was chaining delay after delay. Apart from some internal problems that were never known in detail, the great Hollywood writers strike that left a good part of American fiction in the air. It was a strike that actually lasted several months and did not end until an agreement was reached in early November last year. Filming for the second season of the Apple TV+ series had already begun, but it was still in the very early stages when that break came.
Stiller claims that filming resumed in October, although there was no clear sign of this until January, when its director published an image of filming on Instagram in which Adam Scott (Mark in fiction) could be seen running down a hallway. what appears to be the bowels of Lumon, the fictitious company in which all the events take place.
In any case, I welcome this news very positively. I would have loved to see it now and, if you hurry me, have done it a year ago and now be talking about a third season. Unfortunately the world does not work based on my wishes, although in this case, like Stiller, the rest of the fans of the series and I are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Or, rather, the elevator.
