It has been a long time since we saw a real revolution in the Apple Pencil after the launch of its second generation. All this with the exception with the launch of the Apple Pencil USB-C that we saw last year as a hybrid between the second and first generation. But finally we are going to have the already very popular Apple Pencil Pro that arrives to evolve from a simple iPad accessory.
And the Apple Pencil has become an essential companion for any iPad. Used in professional fields such as graphic design, but also ideal for taking notes with the tablet in an academic setting. And although the Apple Pencil that we had on the table until now were very good, They wanted to go one step further with this release that was highly anticipated during the Let Loose event. An event in which the new iPad Air 6, iPad Pro M4 and the Magic Keyboard 2 have also been presented.
Everything new in the Apple Pencil Pro
There are many clues that Apple has given us about this launch in the invitation and in the logo that has been published before the presentation. The main novelty of this Apple Pencil is that it leaves the X generation last name to make the leap to being called Apple Pencil Pro.
This Apple Pencil Pro stands out for being completely new and according to Apple “taking the pencil experience to a completely new level.” Among its characteristics, it stands out for having a new sensor that allows us to create new interactions with our iPad screen. A sensor that complements the double tap that we already had in previous generations.
This new iPad will allow you to create completely personalized interactions and a new shortcut will be created while we are using the Apple Pencil on the iPad screen. On the screen you will be able to select in a barrel twist different profile styles through the new sensor that is added. But to choose the brushes we will not have to press on the screen, but rather we will be able to choose them through a rotation movement on the pencil with its new sensor.
This makes switching between pen, eraser, or other editing tools much easier. Until now this was limited to a tool by double tapping on the pencil, but now they go further with this long-awaited change.
From a distance you will easily be able to see where the pointer is and do this interaction with all the creation tools. Objects will be able to move and rotate at the same time through this haptic sensor that will detect our pressure and the movement of our fingers.
Plus, if you lose your Apple Pencil you won’t have any problems. As with AirPods You will be able to locate them through the Search application. Ideal when it is left between the sofa cushions or lost on the table after having used it.
Apple Pencil Pro price and availability
This Apple Pencil Pro has a price of 149 euros in its unique model and can now be reserved through the Apple website and shipments will begin to arrive on June 16.
When it comes to compatibility, there is bad news for those who own a previous generation iPad and want to use this new Apple Pencil. It will only be available with the 13/11″ M4 iPad Pro and the new 13 and 11″ iPad Air 6. That is, only in the models that were presented this Tuesday.
