Two years ago nokiathe well-known mobile phone brand, surprised us with the announcement of the Streaming Box 8000, an interesting streaming and media player that came to compete with other equipment such as Chromecast with Google TV, Fire TV, Apple TV 4K or Nvidia Shield, offering relatively powerful hardware for a price of less than 100 euros.
Now the company has ready a new evolution of this multimedia player that comes under the name of Nokia Streaming Box 8010 and with considerably improved technical specifications to attract more demanding users who are looking for a device to view video content, photos and music, but also to play games.

The new Nokia Streaming Box 8010 maintains the spirit of its predecessor but notably improves the hardware section as well as the operating system, which now becomes Android TV 11 with access to the classic applications and streaming services available to him, such as Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Disney + and Netflix.
As in the previous case, it is manufactured and sold on the website of StreamView, the company that holds the license for the Nokia brand for televisions, decoders and DAB radios, offering on this occasion a new SoC, more RAM, more storage and some extra extra.
Thus, we find an Amlogic S905X4-K chipset with Quad-Core Cortex-A55 CPU, an ARM Mali-G31 MP2 GPU, a total of SDRAM memory 4GB DDR4 Y 32GB local storage for our files and applications.
It also has three USB portstwo of them type A (one 2.0 and the other 3.0) and another type C to which we can connect peripherals such as game controllers, keyboards, memories and hard drives with our videos, photos and music that will be played on TV thanks to graphical output HDMI 4K@60Hz. We also have compatibility with sound formats such as Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Atmos and DTS.
In the connectivity section we also have a digital optical port, 3.5mm jack auxiliary output, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi 6 dual-band and Ethernet port for wired connections. Also, if we want to use it to play games, we can use two of the USB ports to connect two controllers and access native Android games or services like Nvidia GeForce Now.
Lastly, it’s worth mentioning that it comes with a backlit remote control with buttons for direct access to streaming services and that have paid special attention to the electrical consumption of the device with only 12 watts at full power and 0.5 in standby mode.
