Differences between the Redmi Note 12, Note 12 5G, Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro+ 5G
range of redmi note 12 Xiaomi is divided into two clearly different groups. On the one hand, the two Pro models, which share many specifications. On the other, the standard models.
How are the Pro models different?
The differences between the Redmi Note 12 Pro and the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G are limited to four aspects: photography, charging speed, thickness and weight.
- Photography: the Pro+ 5G model mounts a 200-megapixel main sensor while the Pro 5G version opts for the 50-megapixel IMX766.
- charging speed: the most advanced model has 120 W while the Pro 5G stays at 67 W.
- weight and thickness: 210 grams and 8.98 mm thick for the Pro+ 5G model; 187 grams and 7.9 mm for the Pro 5G model.
How are the standard models different?
In this case, the differences are more noticeable. We find changes in the main camera, the processor, the dimensions, the RAM and the connectivity.
- Photography: the 5G version has a 48-megapixel camera, while the main one of the 4G version is 50-megapixel.
- Processor: We have a Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 in the 5G model and a Snapdragon 685 in the 4G version.
- Dimensions: Despite having the same screen, the 4G model is slightly narrower, thinner, and lighter than the 5G model.
- RAM: the version that is marketed in Spain of the Redmi Note 12 5G has 6 GB of RAM, while the 4G version remains with 4 GB.
- connectivity: the most noticeable difference in this case is 5G, which is only available in one of the two models. This is in addition to Bluetooth, which is 5.0 in the most basic model and 5.1 in the most advanced model.
Bringing pills from the upper ranges to entry models
In general terms, the Redmi Note 12 series brings with it several improvements, but in none of them we find a major leap compared to the previous generation. However, this is not exclusive to Xiaomi, but to the entire industry. The jumps are getting smaller every year. The macroeconomic context does not help low or mid-range products either, where profit margins have always been at the limit.
Nevertheless, Yes, it is appreciated that Xiaomi standardizes in the lower ranges technologies that until relatively recently were exclusive of the higher ranges. For example: even the cheapest Redmi Note 12 4G now has a 120 Hz AMOLED screen. This component makes, among other things, everything feel more fluid.
Another example of these higher range pills is the 200 megapixel sensor that incorporates the Redmi Note 12 Pro + 5Gwhich we had only seen so far in the Xiaomi 12T Pro, which went on the market at the end of 2022 for about 800 euros.
Xiaomi has also taken some steps forward when it comes to storage. For example: the Redmi Note 12 5G, which succeeds the Redmi Note 11S 5G, starts at 128 GB, while the previous model did at 64 GB. The same is true of the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, which now comes with 256 GB of memory as standard.
Finally, we could qualify as a victory that Xiaomi has finally dispensed with depth sensors of low resolution, whose real usefulness –beyond marketing– has always been in question.
How is the Redmi Watch 3?
The new Redmi Watch 3 has a 1.75-inch screen with AMOLED technology and a brightness of up to 600 nits to offer good visibility outdoors. That, however, does not impact autonomy, which is 12 days with regular use.
The Redmi Watch 3, as usual in these health products, has GPS, resists immersions to a maximum of 5 atmospheresoffers up to 121 training modes and mounts different health sensors such as blood oxygen monitoring, heart rate or sleep.
Finally this watch It has speakers and microphones. that allow you to make calls directly from the watch in a clear and fluid way. Of course: it is necessary that the phone is within the range of Bluetooth for this option to work correctly.
