A discreet design that hides a tremendously capable phone
To tell the truth, POCO has achieved a really attractive aesthetic with its new M4 5G compared to its Redmi brother. It is true that we still have a completely plastic rear part but, in this case, a generously sized camera module has been added in the style of Google Pixel 6 which, personally, seems to us to be great.
As usual within the brand, we will have the possibility of being able to buy it in three color finishes to choose between black, blue and yellow POCO, and for the rest of the design, we find the classic in a phone of this price: fingerprint sensor on the unlock button, front part with drop-type notch, USB-C, 3.5 mm jack and even the typical infrared port.
Since we have briefly mentioned the front, tell you that the new POCO M4 5G has a panel with IPS technology, 6.58-inch size, Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate that stays at 90 Hz Along with a touch sampling rate of 240 Hz, quite solvent specifications for a product that does not cost too much.
If we take a look inside, we see that this new POCO is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor that has 5G connectivity and versions with 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM along with two UFS 2.2 storage options from 64GB and 128GB which, a priori, seem sufficient for our daily use, although we can always expand this capacity via micro SD.
As with other POCO products, we continue to enjoy the classic and more than generous 5,000 mAh battery although, in this case, fast charging remains at a discreet 18 W but, luckily, we can also charge other phones via USB-C with a power of 5W, something that surely a family member or friend in trouble could thank us for.
Finally, we also tell you that we have the latest version of MIUI 13 for POCO based on Android 12 and, as with the rest of the terminal, we find a fairly conservative camera setup and worthy of a low price phone being as follows:
- 50 MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture
- 2 MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture
- 8 MP front camera
