We already have official confirmation from Redmi that they will launch a smartphone very soon that will equip the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, thus joining Xiaomi with its future Xiaomi 13 Pro and Xiaomi 13. This strategy is very similar to what already happened last year with the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition that ended up being the POCO F4 GT in the Global market, and It seems that the brand wants to follow that same path.
In fact, Lu Weibing himself, CEO of Redmi, has been in charge of making this news official through his Weibo profile, a publication in which he details that Redmi will have a device equipping this processor inside and, as most rumors indicate, it would correspond to a phone from the new Redmi K60 series.
A possible Redmi K60 Gaming Edition on the way?
In this case, Lu Weibing has not confirmed which Redmi phone will mount this processor, but everything indicates that we will have it present in a special edition of the Redmi K60 as it happened last yearsince other standard versions of this model will equip Mediatek chips from the Dimensity 9000 series.
This smartphone could correspond to the new Redmi K60 Gaming Edition in Chinawhile in the Global market it will be presented under the name of POCO F5 GT, a terminal that already worked quite well last year and this could repeat the formula of presenting a tremendously powerful mobile in order to have the best possible experience at the gameplay level.
For the rest, the rest of the rumors suggest that we could see a fast charging up to 120 W on this smartphone, OLED panel with 2K resolution and high refresh rate and even a 50 MP main rear camera with built-in OIS. We will see when all this becomes official, but we are already looking forward to trying a next generation of terminals that aim to be very top.
