On Twitter, some Galaxy S23 users have reported to Samsung the presence of a strange trace visible at the bottom of the screen. A perfectly normal phenomenon according to the brand, which evokes its manufacturing processes.
A kind of strange trace taunts you by showing off at the bottom of the screen of your Galaxy S23 Ultra, a bit as if a film had been badly stuck on it? Don’t worry, it’s ugly but perfectly normal? according to Samsung. Questioned on Twitter by several users concerned, the brand responded by indicating that this small aesthetic defect would not actually be one. It would simply be the result of a manufacturing process of the screen itself.
An argument that struggles to fully convince, some users having still decided to resume their copy after a few days of use. As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is currently one of the most expensive smartphones on the market, with a starting price officially set at more than 1400 euros in France.
Traces that can only be seen with “strong light” according to Samsung
According to the British branch of Samsung, which explained itself on Twitter, this defect, mainly observed in the lower right corner of the screen, would in fact only be visible by pointing “strong lighton the area in question. The brand also ensures that this trace is in no way linked to a failure of the screen or the slab.
In detail, it would be the result of the lamination process used by the firm for the production of its screens. This manufacturing process bonds multiple layers of glass together to prevent dust or water from entering the screen. In some cases, this lamination operated by Samsung may nevertheless leave a small spot, more or less visible, having an appearance “crushed/pressed“.
If you shine a strong light on the display, some parts may appear to be squashed/pressed, this happens because of the pressing process for waterproofing and dustproofing. This is not a product defect. Everything is fine with your phone. ^DT 2/2

Nothing to do in particular except get used to this trace until you no longer notice it… or request an exchange from Samsung if you are concerned. The firm ensures that this problem is not a production defect, but on a device positioned on the very high end, this kind of imperfections is visibly difficult to pass.
