The Galaxy S22 is already a huge success. In South Korea, Samsung has registered over a million pre-orders, 60% of which are for the Ultra model alone. The smartphone is doing almost as well as its predecessor the Galaxy S8, which reached 1.4 million pre-orders.
The Galaxy S22 is officially available in stores today. For now, only the Ultra model can be found. For the other two versions, it will be necessary to wait for the March 11, 2022. However, this does not prevent the smartphone from already breaking sales records. According to a report by ZDNet Korea, Samsung recorded a total of 1.02 million pre-orders in South Korea for its new flagship between February 14 and 21. On the first day alone, 300,000 pre-orders were placed.
A record that only the Galaxy S8 can boast of having matched. Indeed, the smartphone still occupies the first place of the podium, with no less than 1.4 million pre-orders to his credit. However, it should be noted that the latter had at the time benefited from a period of 11 days before its official launch in stores. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3, meanwhile, sit just below the Galaxy S22, with 920,000 pre-orders including 270,000 on the first day.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra is again the most popular model
These figures also reveal the most popular model in the range. Again, this is the Galaxy S22 Ultra, which alone accounts for more than 60% of pre-orders. Before him, the Galaxy S21 Ultra was already the spearhead of the range with users. In addition, the latter had already broken pre-order records in 2021, greatly exceeding the figures of the Galaxy S20.
Faced with such success, Samsung is struggling to satisfy everyone. Delivery delays are already to be expected, sometimes up to 3 months for certain versions and colors. A situation of which the shortage of the shortage of components is of course not unrelated. However, the Korean manufacturer said it is working hard to considerably reduce these delays.
