From hardly having a television streaming offer, in a space of a few years, in Spain we have become saturated. A range of options to choose from, which will soon be joined by a new platform: SkyShowtime. And it is that after a waiting time, the company has announced the deployment plans in Europe.
It will be from September 20 when SkyShowtime can be seen in Nordic countries such as Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. Later, from the last quarter of the year, it will arrive in the Netherlands and in 2023 to Spain, Andorra and Eastern Europe. So let’s learn more about the new proposal.
From cinema to TV in a month and a half
We already have the first data on the arrival of SkyShowtime in different countries in Europe. We have seen how it will debut in the northern countries (Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden) and to Spain, will arrive at the beginning of 2023along with other European markets.
Among what we do know is the price, at least in the countries where the platform debuts. A) Yes, in Finland, the subscription will be priced at 6.99 euros per monthso we can expect that in the rest of the markets, the cost will be similar.
A platform that will offer access to the entire Paramount+ catalog, which in this way will agglutinate into one. All the content, which right now is distributed among the different platforms (Netflix, Prime Video, Movistar+…). A. Catalog that includes recent movie releases such as “Top Gun: Maverick”, “Jurassic World Dominion”, “Minions: The Origin of Gru” or “Sonic 2: The Movie”.
Added to all these titles are well-known franchises such as “Mission Impossible”, “Star Trek”, “Transformers”, “Ninja Turtles” and the catalog of the indie Miramax, as well as NBCUniversal, Universal Pictures and Paramount Pictures productions.
In addition, and as usual on other platforms, movie premieres will have their place on SkyShowtime and in a short space of time. From the big screen to televisions will make the leap in a period that ranges between 30 and 45 days.
SkyShowtime is a Comcast and ViacomCBS project and with its arrival, users will also have access to other lesser-known platforms such as Peacock, Showtime, the now defunct Sky or Nickelodeon. In total, SkyShowtime will count or so say the companies that have given it life, over 10,000 hours of content.
