200 lock screens, not one more
It has been the Reddit user XiXMak who has been excited by making lock screens without stopping and has come across the alert that you can see above: “Wallpaper limit reached: to create a new wallpaper you need to delete one first”.
To get to this prompt, XiXMak has reached the magic number of 200 backgrounds created. So thanks to him we already know that the maximum limit of personalized lock screens that you can have in iOS 16 is 200. Apple’s idea is that you have a few depending on the occasion (like the spheres of the Apple Watch), but the Limits are there to be tested.
200 wallpapers is a very high number, and you have to think about the storage of the device: Each of those wallpapers will take up several MB of space, which can be dangerously close to over 1 GB if you multiply it by two hundred. Although it seems that it is not necessary to put this “cap”, it is better that Apple has decided to implement it.
