If you’re into podcasts like me, you’ve probably had to deal with ads while listening. And for some of them, they can be interesting, but it is not so easy to memorize the latter.
Take the example of highlighting a service with a promotional code to benefit from free months or a promotion. Remembering the famous code, in addition to the name of the service, is not easy, especially if you are in the middle of a sport session or while driving. Well, the famous platform Spotify (v8.6.94, 154MB, iOS 12.0) wants to rethink the highlights by mixing audio with “advertising banners”.
Spotify: “call-to-action cards” for podcasts
The company announced today that it is rolling out new “call to action cards” for podcasting ads. Concretely, this is how Spotify illustrates its words:
You are often forced to remember a promo code or URL or make a mental note to look up the offer when you return to your phone or laptop. This process is far from transparent. That’s why we’re excited to announce the launch of a new podcast advertising experience, Call to Action Cards (CTAs).
These cards will appear in the Spotify app as soon as an ad for a podcast airs. Early tests have shown “twice as many site visits with these new clickable ads compared to non-clickable podcast ads.
This novelty is launched in the United States today, for Spotify Original & Exclusive podcasts.
