Among the range of televisions that TCL has prepared for us for 2024, one of its models stands out above the rest: the TCL X955. This new series of Smart TVs is the flagship of the firm and our colleague Juan Carlos López, from Xataka, was already able to leave us some first impressions Of the same. Now, months after its official announcement in other markets, it arrives in Spain for the first time.
TCL continues to invest in panels with MiniLED technology and has been marketing them for several years. This TCL X955 is the maximum exponent of its technology, offered in sizes of 85 and 98 inches and, on the other hand, in a special model with a gigantic 115-inch panel called TCL X955 Max. In addition, the company has left us with a model also available in 98 inches and that represents TCL’s new mid-range: the C655 Pro. Below these lines we leave you with all the information.

The flagship X955 is preparing for its arrival in Spain
The Asian manufacturer is a specialist in offering large diagonal televisions, with the X955 being its greatest achievement to date. Here we are talking about TCL’s flagship, a 4K UHD model with MiniLED technology (they call it QD-MiniLED due to the presence of quantum dots) and a native refresh rate of 144 Hzcontinuing with its strategy to also attract players.
Its VA-type panel with a 10-bit color depth uses nanocrystals to reproduce color, allowing it, according to the manufacturer, to cover 98% of the DCI-P3 space. Its majestic delivery of brilliance also amazes, with a theoretical maximum of 5,000 nits and a contrast of 6,000:1.
The TCL television is also compatible with most of the most complete HDR formats, such as Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+ Adaptive. In addition, it offers a FALD (Full-Array Local Dimming) backlight made up of nothing more and nothing less than 5,184 local dimming zones in its 98-inch model.
The AiPQ Processor 3.0 chip is responsible for processing your image, making use of powerful algorithms based on artificial intelligence to guarantee correct image quality. This point, along with its colossal brightness delivery and its MiniLED matrix, are TCL’s key ingredients to face the most competent models in the sector this year.
When it comes to sound, it doesn’t fall short either. And the television offers an integrated Onkyo bar with a 4.2.2 system that reaches a total of 160 W RMS power. Along with this, it is worth highlighting its compatibility with Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD and connectivity with HDMI 2.1 ports with eARC.
As it’s usual, The television will be equipped with Google TV as an operating system, which will allow us to download applications from the Google Play Store, enjoy streaming platforms, control smart home devices or interact with the Google Assistant, among many other aspects.
TCL C655, an entry-level range with a panel of up to 98 inches
In addition to the majestic X955, the firm has also presented another new model for Spain that has a large 98-inch diagonal version. We are talking about the C655, or as they are also called in certain regions, the TCL C61B.
Based on the features of this television, we can conclude that it is an entry-level television, offering an LCD panel with Direct LED backlighting and up to 450 nits of maximum brightness. Logically, it has no comparison to the model that we have detailed above or to its older brother, the C655 Pro, with a FALD panel. However, it will be the delight of all those who prioritize panel size over other features.
The television is present in sizes ranging from 43 to 98 inches, and also offers quantum dot technology. Its native panel refresh rate does not go beyond 60 Hz in 4K (120 Hz in 1080p). However, the Smart TV is compatible with the main HDR formats, including Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+. Additionally, in its 98-inch version we find VRR through FreeSync Premium Pro.
Your sound system offers Dolby Atmos support in a 2.1 system for models larger than 55 inches, while the 2.0 system provides its models with a lower diagonal.
Like the rest of TCL models, the television offers Google TV as the operating system, completing your experience with the versatility and convenience of Google software.
Price and availability
The models have been confirmed for their arrival in Spain in the coming weeks, although we still do not have a launch date or confirmed prices. We will have to wait to find out more information about it.
