It is still on Twitter that Elon Musk makes his big decisions. The autonomous driving option, Full Self-Driving (FSD), will increase significantly in price.
Full Self Driving (FSD)fully autonomous drivingTesla is testing its Autopilot for a few months via a beta program with owners with exemplary driving behavior. The car is supposed to be able to drive on its own, not only on the highway, but also in the city. However, this is not level 3 of autonomous driving, because you have to keep your hands on the wheel and remain attentive to what is happening.
Various announcements via Twitter
For the second time in 2022, Tesla is raising the price of its Full Self-Driving (FSD) feature. Elon Musk announced on Twitter that the initial cost of driver assistance software would increase to $15,000 from September 5 in the United States. The US automaker will honor the current price of $12,000 for orders placed before this date:
Note that you can update your current car to FSD in 2 minutes via the Tesla app
He did not say whether Tesla would increase the price of its FSD subscription plans. The option currently costs up to $199 per month.
No change in Europe
This type of subscription is not available in Europe and particularly in France, where you cannot yet use Full Self-Driving (FSD). The program beta is only available in the United States. We can nevertheless subscribe to the autonomous driving capacity option for 7,500 euros, without taking advantage of the features on our roads.
It’s only a matter of time, level 3 driving has been legal in France and Europe since July 2022. A measure that will notably have required modifying the Vienna Convention, a text responsible for governing road traffic in many many regions of the world including Europe. For the time being, very few cars are able to offer level 3 autonomous driving. Indeed, only the Mercedes S-Class and EQS are equipped with it for the moment.
Version 10.69 is coming, “a big leap forward »
Regarding Tesla’s beta program in the United States, the upcoming 10.69 version will be advanced enough to be available to all beta participants. A version promised by the billionaire as “a big leap forward“, but we are used to hearing that with each new beta version.
FSD Beta 10.69 started rolling out to Tesla owners last night. This build is a big step forward!
10.69.1 probably end of week with wider release.
1069.2 in a few weeks should be good enough to provide to all FSD Beta participants.

If Elon Musk thus attracts the sympathy of his fans, this message is also addressed to his detractors. Recently, theAutopilotof Tesla was attacked in a campaign financed by an American politician.
Remember that the FSD was initially expected for the end of 2020, then the beginning of 2021, the update for the autonomous driving function is currently only expected for 2023.
