Technology has completely changed our lives in all areas, and one of them is driving. Thanks to different technological advances, cars are increasingly safer and traveling on the road is more comfortable than evereven if we don’t know the route.
Safety while driving is of extreme importance and radars play a very important role in prevention of accidents due to excess speed. On long road trips, it may happen that at some point you slightly exceed the established limit. For this reason, it never hurts to use navigation applications that warn us about radars to maintain attention at all times and avoid scares.
Google Maps
The king par excellence of navigation applications is Google Maps, available for free on our devices. For some time now, the app It allows us to see and report the presence of radars in a simple way.
To see the radars present on a specific route you just have to enter your destination and press the button How to get. As you can see, in the route preview both fixed radars and mobile radars are shown that you will find on the way.

Google Maps is the mapping application par excellence.
Once you have started the route by pressing the button Startthe app It will issue an alert every time you are going to pass by any of the speed cameras on the route. Thanks to these notices you can make sure you are respecting the speed limits at all times.
waze
Another of the most popular navigation applications is Waze, a tool with a clear community focus that we can use for free and that has a speed camera warning function: the app will notify us before entering an area controlled by radars and the alert disappears when leaving said area.

Definitely, The best thing about Waze is its community, which continually collaborates by reporting accidents, works, blocked lanes, bad weather or any type of incident. Another of the application’s strong points is the customization options: we can even record our own voice to use during navigation.
TomTom AmiGO
If you have already tried the previous applications and are looking for an alternative, we recommend trying TomTom AmiGO, a free navigation application that also has fixed and mobile speed camera warnings. TomTom AmiGO too allows us to report incidents directly from the appsuch as traffic jams, road works or road closures.

Fixed and Mobile Radars
Another option that is worth trying is Fixed and Mobile Radars, a highly specialized in sending alerts about nearby radars which we have already talked to you about in detail previously.
Considering the focus of this application, It is interesting to use it in a complementary way to another app navigation. That is, we could use Google Maps to calculate routes and Fixed and Mobile Radars to receive information from nearby radars. Although we can use it for free, Fixed and Mobile Radars has purchases in-app to remove ads or use the app with CarPlay or on Apple Watch.

It is a paid application, although it is possible to download it and enjoy a free trial period to evaluate if we are interested in buying it. Once the trial period has ended, it will be necessary to pay to continue using it: app It offers several payment plans starting at €7.99 per month, although it is possible to save if we opt for the annual plan.

Coyote is one of the most complete radar applications available today.
Check the location of the radars from the official DGT website
In addition to using the applications that we have mentioned in the article, there is another way to find out the location of the DGT radars: using the official website of the General Directorate of Traffic.
Specifically, the DGT allows us to consult the location of the radars in two different ways: downloading a file in Excel format in which the radar information appears divided by provinces or consulting the official map of the DGT.
The most interesting way is to use the map, although taking into account the amount of information it shows It is more convenient to consult it from a computer. To facilitate your consultation, we recommend deactivating all options (except Radars) that appear in the section Circulation levels located at the bottom of the map.
