For almost a year, we have known that Apple has been reluctant to continue the adventure of the “mini” iPhones and is preparing a new range for the iPhone 14. Exit the iPhone 14 mini and make way for the iPhone 14 Max, the affordable version of the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Besides this size issue, the Pro models would feature a slightly more stretched screen due to a new “hole + pill” design replacing the notch. And proof is, photos of the front facades have just been published on the web, as well as shells for the next iPhone.
Here is the “iPhone 14” family
According to the account Saran ByteiPhone 14 front bezels leaked on Weibo and show that the aspect ratio is “slightly different on the Pros (19:5:9 to 20:9)”, which corroborates the previous report from 9To5Mac.
Apple’s smartphone range in 2022 will therefore still have four models, but this time without a “mini” version. The new iPhone 14 (codenames D27 and D28) will be available in 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch versions, as will the iPhone 14 Pro (codenames D73 and D74), and the current iPhone mini format. 5.4 inch will be discontinued.
As you can see in the image above, these are the four front panels of the upcoming iPhone 14 series. It is well realized that the iPhone 14 Max will be as big as the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro Max from 6.7 inches.
Different cases for the iPhone 14
Another signed leak Mac Otakara give us this time a nice preview of the iPhone 14. With 3D printed models taken from the files sent to the production lines, we can see that the cases of the iPhone 13 will not install because of the bump of the camera back. Here’s it all on video:
