This is a fact that we already have in mind, but which is confirmed once again in 2022. In the United States, on average 87% of teenagers own a smartphone flocked with a bitten apple. A figure that could rise further in the years to come.
The iPhone, king of the world among young people and therefore among future adults
It is a fact, over the last ten years, the iPhone has created a monster popularity. This is even more the case among young people and especially among American teenagers where the iPhone has become the only smartphone to be purchased en masse.
In a biannual survey published by PiperSandler, we learn that 87% of teenagers surveyed have an iPhone. A gigantic figure which was already at this level last year.
As a reminder, in 2012, the iPhone was only 40% of this customer target, proof once again of the work done by the brand over the last decade. Quite logically, 88% of them believe that their next smartphone will again be an iPhone.
9 out of 10 American teenagers own an iPhone and 90% of them do not want to change in the future. Data that announces a bright future for all the brand’s devices, especially with the ecosystem in place that offers simplicity at all levels.
As for the Apple Watch, we are falling in popularity with “only” 31% who have one on their wrist. It is true that teenagers are not the primary target of this device. Nevertheless, for once, the Apple Watch is the queen of connected watches and crushes the competition. 5.8% of respondents who have a connected watch on their wrist do not have an Apple Watch, which is very meager.
This survey was carried out on 14,500 teenagers with an average age of 15.8 years, in 47 American states.
