What if Apple was preparing a surprise for its next low-cost smartphone? In any case, this is what journalist Mark Gurman of the famous Bloomberg website thinks in his weekly newsletter. According to him, the price of the iPhone SE 2022 could start at $299, which would be excellent value for money if the rumors turn out to be true.
Even better, the Cupertino company could continue to sell the current iPhone SE at a price of 199 dollars.
iPhone SE 2022: a significant price drop?
Imagine being able to get your hands on an Apple smartphone that features 5G, an improved A15 processor and a better camera for less than $300? This is what could well happen according to journalist Mark Gurman in his newsletter of the day.
Of course, for the moment, the presence of 5G and the A15 chip is still in the category of rumors, but we imagine that it is not impossible that Apple will give us the benefit of its latest technologies. If Apple makes this choice, the current iPhone SE could be sold for $199, to compete with other manufacturers who all offer much more accessible devices.
Additionally, the current iPhone SE would be a nice alternative for people who don’t need 5G, but would also wipe out the iPod lineup. Two years ago, the material cost of the iPhone SE was estimated at around 200 dollars: only, since then, one imagines that the prices of materials have fallen and that Apple would return to its gains.
Response in the coming months, and even from March 8 with the possible presentation of the iPhone SE 3, the 2022 model still based on the iPhone 8.
