Today there has been in China a great product presentation event from Xiaomi, where in addition to the fantastic Xiaomi CIVI 2, we have seen an external battery in the form of lipstick or headphones with a design that we had never seen before.
But the thing has not finished there. The company has presented us with the Xiaomi Modular Robota new modular toy with a futuristic appearance with infinite movements, functions and created, above all, to help with children’s learning.
It’s a dog, a turtle or whatever you want it to be
After Xiaomi’s humanoid robot comes Clipbot, a version similar to the CyberDog much smaller and more abstract than works by modules: comes with different ‘pieces’ that are attached with magnets and that you can combine to create different shapes: from the typical dog to a kind of totally vertical ‘stick bug’.
Clipbot has been conceived to be used as a toy for children over eight yearsdue to its interactive functions and the fact that it can be built and deconstructed at the whim of the little ones (and not so little ones).
Among what we can do with Clipbot, its features stand out for teach programmingsince through their own application children can learn to program the movements of the robotfrom the angle of inclination to the speed of your actions.
With some sensors in the pieces that make Clipbot’s base, also interact with people, since it has a pressure sensor with feedback when you are stroking it, for example. Also, detects movement and even gesturesand reacts to them through several cameras that it incorporates in the piece that forms its head, formed by a 2.1-inch touch screen.
Regarding its technical specifications, the complete robot-toy weighs 262 grams and can reach a height of more than 30 centimeters. It is charged via USB-C and has a 1,500 mAh battery. This made of plastic and metal and it has LED lights in all its parts.
Clipbot Price and Availability
As we said at the beginning, Xiaomi’s new modular robot was presented today at an event in China and for the moment we have no news of his arrival in Europe. To do so, you should first receive various certifications from European bodies.
The Xiaomi Modular Robot has been put up for sale in the Asian country and its current price is 3,599 yuan, about 520 euros to change. That price that includes four legs, a base, Clipbot’s head, six joints and a vertical piece to extend it in height.
