The new iPad Pro of the year 2024 will be released in a few days, specifically on May 7 at the Apple Event that the company has prepared. Until then, we have many rumors from highly reliable sources that tell us what that iPad Pro will be like before officially meeting it.
In this article we are going to review the seven new features that the new iPad Pro will have and which will make it the best iPad in history and one of the biggest updates it’s ever had throughout all their generations.
A unique OLED screen on both iPad Pro models
Actually we have OLED screens on iPhone and Apple Watch. The next step for this technology would be for it to reach both iPad Pro 12.9″ and the 11″ iPad Pro. You already know the advantages of an OLED screen: more brightness, better colors and, above all, great contrast thanks to some pure blacks.
The OLED screen of the iPad Pro would have a surprise, and in fact that is why its launch would have been delayed so much. These iPads would have a unique screen in the industry of tablets and smartphones. They would use a structure called ‘tandem’.
What does it consist of? This way of manufacturing a screen stacks two OLED emitting layers, one on top of the other. In this way, the brightness and useful life of the screens would be reinforced. So we would not be looking at just any OLED screen, but rather the best OLED screen.
In addition, as the Display Supply Chain media comments, the screens of the new iPad Pro also it would be LTPO. This means that it would be similar to iPhone 15 Pro screen or the Apple Watch Series 9. So we may even have the functionality of Always-on Retina display.
An updated design with fewer frames
It is true that the design of the iPad can be innovated little, since it is basically all screen. Still, thanks to this new OLED screen, we hope that the iPad Pro has thinner frames and also change its edges to something more rounded like the iPhone 15 Pro. A titanium material is not expected (although it would be wonderful), but new aluminum finishes are expected. Perhaps we will see the Midnight color of the MacBook Air or Space Black of the MacBook Pro.
Lastly, the camera module is completely outdated, and we have a design from 2018 and 2020 pending many changes. Since it is currently based on the iPhone 11 camera design.
An even more powerful Chip, although we do not know if it will be M3 or M4
More than a wish, it is obvious. Apple will equip the new iPad Pro with a more powerful Chip than the current M2. Although, in my opinion, the M2 Chip is not even used 100%, it is logical that Apple changes the processor of the new iPad. To prepare it better in the future, and also for marketing.
The big unknown is whether it will arrive with an M3 Chip or an M4 Chip as we have advanced in Applesfera after a last minute rumor. Whatever it is, we will have a processor as powerful as that of a Macand from which it will be a pleasure to play video games like Resident Evil.
Change in the position of the rear and front cameras
As we have seen, Apple will thoroughly update the design of the iPad Pro and this involves restructuring the cameras. First the front camera or FaceTime. This camera will now be horizontal as on the 10th generation iPad. Added to the reduction in frames, perhaps it is time to see the Dynamic Island on the iPad Pro.
A logical move since we usually use the iPad most of the time horizontal, especially if we use a keyboard or case. In addition, the rear cameras will be improved with all the advances in photography and video that we have had in the latest iPhone models. Who knows maybe even get the 48 megapixel sensor of the iPhone 15.
A new generation of Apple Pencil exclusive for the new iPad Pro
The Apple Pencil 3 is confirmed, and although it is not a wish, Apple is sure to leave it exclusively for the new iPad Pro. This new Apple Pencil will have super interesting features. From a magnetic tip change like the AirPods Max pads, up to a haptic vibration system which will make you have the sensation of writing on paper.
A renewed Magic Keyboard, made of aluminum and with a larger trackpad
Mark Gurman has also already advanced it, the new keyboard for the iPad Pro will be more premium and will be more similar to a Mac. Apple’s goal is that stop being seen as an accessory. To do this, they will incorporate a larger trackpad and aluminum parts inside.
It will probably continue to maintain the floating design, or perhaps the back of the keyboard can be separated as happens in the Magic Keyboard Folio of the 10th generation iPad. What is certain is that again this keyboard sIt will be compatible only with the new iPad Pro, and perhaps, previous generations are not compatible with this iPad model either. Something that will surely not be particularly exciting for owners of a current Magic Keyboard and who would like to upgrade to the new iPad Pro.
iPadOS at the height of this new iPad Pro
Although this will surely not arrive at the Keynote on May 7, we do hope that at WWDC we will see a big leap in iPadOS. In recent years we have gained a better multitasking, support for external displayskeyboards, mice… The next step will be in the hands of iOS 18 and therefore also in iPadOS 18. Lots of artificial intelligence to take advantage of this new iPad with its more powerful processor.
There are only a few days left to finally see this iPad and from Applesfera we have everything ready to keep you up to date with any news before, during and after its launch.
