Tesla announces this August 3, 2022 by press release the availability of its Model S Plaid and Model X Plaid vehicles in Europe. French consumers can now order one of these cars on the official Tesla website, which has been updated with the latest features, options and prices for the occasion. Customer deliveries will begin between November and December 2022.
As a reminder, the Plaid versions update the Model S and Model X released respectively in 2012 and 2015 (in 2013 and 2016 in Europe). These benefit from new interiors, an improved powertrain, new temperature management, new electronics, a new chassis, reduced weight and slightly refined exterior styling.
Tesla Model S Plaid and Model X Plaid orders open
The Model S Plaid has a range of 600 kilometers in the WLTP cycle. Its three high-performance motors with carbon-coated rotors allow it to reach 100 km/h in just 2.1 seconds for a top speed measured at 322 km/h and the development of 1,020 horsepower. It is marketed in France from €138,990.
The Model X Plaid has a range of 528 km according to the WLTP protocol. The electric SUV goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds and goes up to 262 km/h in top speed. Its three high-performance motors with carbon-coated rotors produce up to 1020 horsepower. Its starting price is set at €141,990.
Many options can then raise the bill. On a Tesla Model S Plaid, for example, the standard color is pearl white. It will cost you 1800 euros to choose the black color and 2200 euros for gray, blue or red. The 21 inch rims instead of 19 inches are sold for 4900 euros. Interior color change, Autopilot and fully autonomous driving are also available for a fee.
Finally, Tesla says European deliveries of the Model S and Model X Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive will begin in 2023. It’s not possible to order either of these vehicles at this time, but the brand is already letting users make a reservation.
